Greetings Stranger!
Welcome. My name is Aidan Clemente, and I am a native Pennsylvanian (go Nittany Lions!), a trained teacher and a livelong learner. My work in coding is a natural extension of my career in math and statistics and a logical progression from my professional experience as a high school math teacher. My skills as a communicator, drive to learn, aptitude for problem solving and customer service are the strengths I bring to programming.
My true passion is working on the front end. I write JavaScript and work with Angular. I have worked with React, but my current job afforded me the opportunity to dive into the Angular world; both JS and 2+, SCSS, and unit testing with Jasmine and Karma. I also use JavaScript in the back end with Node and Express. I also have experience with MySQL, writing custom APIs, unit testing and functional testing utilizing Mocha and Chai, with React.
I aspire to write clean, concise, and reusable code. I am constantly pushing the boundaries of my own knowledge, and spend just as much time researching what others are doing as I do crafting original code. I aim to understand and learn so I can "do better." After a career in teaching, I live the philosophy that working with and learning from others is how to constantly improve one's skills and attain a higher level of understanding. Only with failures and difficult decisions are we challenged to break out of a comfortable place and excel.
I moved to Orlando to join the UCF Full Stack Coding Boot Camp 2017/2018 cohort and found my passion in life. After 6 challenging months, I graduated May 3, 2018 with a job lined up. My work is similar to my personality: dynamic, ever-evolving and detail oriented.
